Coal Creek Basement

This Coal Creek basement includes a family room, wet bar, pool area, fitness and bathroom.  The family room features real wood beams, stone wrapped columns and a warm color palette.  Carpet underfoot makes the room feel cozier, while a media wall showcases more custom stone work and built-in cabinetry.  Stain grade baseboards, window trim, doors and casing elevate the look of the space and complement the main level.  A window seat with an operable-top bench offers storage in an otherwise underutilized space and gives the clients additional seating if needed.  The wet bar features a hammered copper sink, oil-rubbed bronze faucet, full dishwasher and undercounter refrigerator and stained cabinetry.  A slimmer peninsula makes use of the remaining space in the wet bar while also doubling storage.  The bathroom has deep green slab countertops at the vanity, offset by another copper sink and oil-rubbed bronzed fixtures to complement the finish throughout the basement.

Our objective was to finish our 1200 sq ft basement space as if it were part of the original design and construction of our 5 year old mountain home. The design and professional presentation by Basements and Beyond is what sold us on Wes Cooper and his company. The quality of the finished work, including the logs in the ceiling, stone columns, alder wood doors and trim, and the detailed curved staircase and iron work, was beyond our expectations. The dedication and determination of Chuck and the team, driving up Coal Creek Canyon in the dead of winter, with limited cell service and piles of snow! – and their efforts to make sure things were being done to our satisfaction, within budget, and on time, are additional reasons we are so happy we chose Basements and Beyond for our project.
