My wife and I worked directly with Brian Ballow (general manager), Bri Westfall (architectural designer) and Jeff Collins (project manager) at B&B Design. These three were exceptional on all metrics. They assisted us with picking out samples and making common-sense recommendations as to each and every aspect of the remodel design. They were responsible for ordering all products and services. They were responsible for the retention, scheduling, and supervision of all sub-contractors as well as all applicable city inspections. From early design drawings in August of 2023 through completion of all work in September of 2024, the project ran like a Swiss watch. Basements & Beyond was a dream to work with. They made sure that we were fully aware of all aspects of the project each step of the way. There were no surprises, ever. The entire remodeling process – from design and budgeting through completion – was flawless and on time. The finished project was as exceptional.

B&B recently finished an extensive remodel of our second floor. The design and execution of the project was fantastic. Our designer, Bri, was very attuned to our tastes and invaluable in helping to select finished. We walked through the project every Friday morning to review the work that had been done, look at the work to be done and ask/answer questions.Clear communication is a cornerstone of their work. It was obvious at every stage of the project: the initial drawings, the work in progress, the schedule and staging of the work. If there was a hiccup, there was also at least one work around presented.I recommend B&B without reservation.

B&B recently finished our basement and did a truly excellent job. They turned our unfinished space into a bedroom, bathroom, and family room / playroom with plenty of closet space and even a hidden “cloffice.” We asked for some complicated design elements that B&B took on with confidence and executed with mastery. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of the finished product.Yet I would say the even bigger reason to choose to work with B&B is the team. Everyone at B&B we encountered along the way was fantastic to work with—highly professional, highly skilled, thorough, punctual, communicative, friendly, and even good humored. Each of them clearly love their craft and take it seriously, and it felt like they routinely sought out ways to exceed our expectations. This isn’t the first time we’ve lived in our home while renovating part of it, but it’s the first time the process has been so enjoyable.A few particular callouts: In the design phase, Bri helped us explore the range of possibilities for our basement and narrow in on a design we were excited about—providing helpful suggestions and 3D visuals without which we would have been lost. The owner & our project’s manager, Wes, proactively handled everything—clearly & transparently explaining each cost, making sure the project always stayed on or even ahead of schedule & in budget, keeping us well updated throughout, and ensuring we were happy with both the process and the end result. Toward the end of our project, Juan saw to it that every single finishing touch was right; his patience, attention to detail, and high level of craft in a variety of trades gave our project incredible polish. Thank you each! Additional thanks to Kevin, Brian, Zeb, & Mary as well!We would love to work with B&B again for other projects down the line, and we can’t recommend them enough.

Basements & Beyond did excellent work on a recent remodel project of our home. My wife and I are both educators and we have an older house. I was nervous about choosing a contractor who could effectively manage the project while controlling cost. I'm so glad that we chose Basements & Beyond. The design team understood our goals and proposed creative solutions. They also helped us to set priorities as we finalized our scope. Once demo and construction began, our project manager was in regular communication. We received weekly updates with detailed pictures. When we had questions, the project manager was never more than a text message away. At the end of the project, the team led a detailed walkthrough to be sure everything was right. We are very happy with the results and we are planning to use Basements & Beyond again in the future.

The folks with Basements and Beyond are incredible. We had them do an entire house remodel excluding the kitchen. They delivered on their promise and then some. The finished product was more than I could have ever hoped for. Everyone we worked with was great, but a special shoutout to Geoff. He was so professional and easy to work with. He took every high and low in stride, worked so well with the (irritating) Landmark Commission, and his communication was top knotch. I couldn't have asked for a better project manager. He truly cares about his clients and their wellbeing and end product. Really, the whole company does. I've already recommended them twice, and I'll do it a million times. I can't say enough good things about this company.

We chose B&B to do quite a big basement remodel project which included a dig out for a new billiards room.We were thrilled with the final results. Shannon was stellar with both coordinating the entire design as well as helping us make all the various decisions that needed to be made. Her utilization of space and her creativity was fantastic! Our GC was responsive and attentive. As was the whole team! The project was done in a timely manner. We love our new basement and we are completely happy with the service we received from B&B!Craig & Erin Milias

We just completed a basement remodel, which included a dig-out of a large crawl space, that nearly doubled the finished square footage in our home. We couldn't be happier with the results! The new space is absolutely beautiful and while this was a massive project, our experience with B&B was exceptional from beginning to end. From the initial design to working through the final punch list, Wes and the entire B&B team were focused on quality work, meeting our needs and working with us to find creative solutions to everything on our wish list, within budget. We have gone through numerous remodels and our experience with B&B was the best, by far. Their workmanship and attention to every detail is unsurpassed in my experience and the people on their team are knowledgeable, experienced, highly skilled, responsive, and also a lot of fun to work with. We were so pleased with the work in the basement, we hired B&B to beautifully remodel a master bathroom on the main floor. B&B will be our go-to for all construction needs in the future. They do great work, stand behind everything they do and they are good people.

I reached out to Basements & Beyond trying to get a quote for digging out our crawlspace. Bob called and walked through the process, the rough estimate, and the pros and cons of the project we were considering. He was upfront and honest about what his company specializes in and the costs. It was enough information for me to make a decision to change our plans, which is exactly what we needed. Even though it was clear that we wouldn't be hiring their company, Bob was friendly, straightforward, and honest, all of which are qualities that I would look for when considering a company for a major renovation.

Start to finish, working with Basements and Beyond was a fantastic experience. Wes and his team are professional, kind and did high quality work. We worked with them on a basement remodel adding a bedroom, bathroom to our home and I am so happy with the outcome. They follow budgets, timelines, expectations and are conscious of cleaning up every day and doing things right. I would highly recommend for any construction project for your home.

This company webpage and description is completely misleading. Especially for having "basement" in their company name.We filled out their form to see if we can get a quote on helping to finish our basement. The form was straightforward and we had received a quick response back. They had responded noting that they were a Denver based company, focused on full service design and build company, and that their business model is to focus on large remodel older homes in Denver. If that was the case, then they need to make it clear what they actually support and what work they are truly willing to pick up. Their website notes that they are a Denver based company, but toutes that they service projects from Longmont to Castle Rock. Clearly misleading. Their site summarize that they work on basements. No caveats, fine prints, or clear distinctions on what they are only "willing" to work on.Searching for a dependable company to work on a person's home is already tough to began with and stressful! Having a company as such just irritates like crazy, wasted time realized, and increases stress on who else are we wasting our time reaching out to.But...they were nice enough to have us checkout nextdoor instead....

This was the third remodel that I have done on my old house, and it was by far the most smooth and best quality. Everything from design to bidding to construction was well-run. The attention to detail was fabulous. I will absolutely use Basements and Beyond for any future remodel needs.

Trustworthy, reliable, exquisite attention to detail, exceptional workmanship. They have completed a 1600 square foot basement, our master bath, and then our kitchen. This praise is coming from a woman who is often accused of being very particular- and I never deny those charges.

Hiring Basements and Beyond turned out to be worse than I could have imagined. I would not be writing this review if the issues and responses encountered were not so shocking. This is my account of my opinion about the experience. Here are some key problems that we encountered:1. There were constant errors and damage that took place throughout the project (see below).2. A projected 55-day project took nearly a year to complete, with a brief pause due to COVID. B&B touted project management software as a differentiator, but the content was mostly inaccurate and outdated.3. There was rarely a person from B&B on site when subcontractors arrived to do work, and the subs rarely knew what needed to be done, resulting in wrong work completed, items damaged, & insufficient oversight. They gave our door code to innumerable subcontractors and and access to our home felt like a non-stop free-for-all.4. In my opinion, the results look amateur in places, despite B&B’s continued insistence at me that we had a beautiful result.5. I have learned that the project was likely quite expensive. I was lured by the positive reviews and sadly did not get multiple bids.6. We started with a much larger scope & had to significantly reduce the scope because they were not able to manage the small items.7. B&B was unable or unwilling to provide us an updated and final allowance schedule for our plumbing work. They changed the numbers in the software over time, and could not account for the changes or discrepancies. They would only send us the bills from the plumbing providers, which I reviewed in detail to understand what had been installed so that I could retain the receipts for warranty purposes and also to determine the final amount due for this category. I felt that the owner ridiculed me for wanting to understand the items purchased and the numbers (he said I got an A+ for working on it). This felt wrong.9. We continue to find issues. We recently found that our stove hood was scratched when they replaced it. The seam between the kitchen counter and the kitchen backsplash is cracked. The new kitchen sink that was installed initially at the wrong angle still does not drain correctly. Here are a few items from the list of errors made or items damaged: Wrong toilets ordered and installed, counter top installed incorrectly requiring re-do of island, damaged sink resulting in having to order new one, damaged faucet resulting in having to order new one, damaged fireplace, disposal of paint materials in garden, disposed of things in our trash cans that made a mess, used our ladder and got paint all over it, wrong paint colors applied, lost existing door hardware, bathroom tile layout not installed according to plan, damaged window frame, damaged wall of adjacent room during demo, un-level light fixture, towel bar and sink installs, gas leak after replacement of stove, incorrect shower glassX2, and the list goes on. We had to identify nearly all of these issues ourselves, propose solutions, and project manage resolution. In addition to the errors and damage, there were too many examples of responses that felt wrong to me. Here is one. When they tried to close the project , I decided to first double check the work in the crawl space. I found trash and construction debris all over that was not there prior. I also noticed plugs hanging in midair that were not plugged in. I called the inspector, who came and said that he saw multiple deficiencies. He said that the plugs were the heat tape for the pipes, and they were not plugged in thus there was no working freeze protection working on the pipes. He said he asked them to come back to fix the problems. The silver lining in this terrible experience is that we are now back in the hands of skilled professionals to work on the larger projects originally planned for B&B. This includes starting with new build plans that are less clumsy.UPDATE: In response to Wes's reply, we have never previously remodeled our house, not once. We built, spent many happy years, and hired B&B for our 1st remodel ever...

Basements and Beyond is a great company to work with. Their professionalism and exceptional service makes remodelling hassle and stress free. Communication with the management is always easy no matter how busy they are. Staff and the owner of the company alway answer calls in a timely manner, which is almost nonexistent with other companies. I would definitely recommend them to all of my family and friends!

Basements and Beyond were absolute pros every step of the way! Our basement renovation came out just the way we all dreamed it up and their team did an amazing job. We run a company out of the basement of our home, so our project timeline was absolutely critical. They were on top of the timeline and were great communicators along the way. And, they managed to hit the project timeline in the middle of a global pandemic. We were so impressed how they handled the COVID situation using our window wells for all materials and workers throughout the project. They barely stepped foot in on our main level throughout the project and were genuinely respectful of the difficult situation. We loved working with Brian, Wes and Kelly. They were relentless in their pursuit of perfection and making sure we were 100% satisfied.

I can't speak highly enough of B&B, Wes, and the team! They were great to work with even during trying COVID times, and we ended up with an amazing basement. What is truly phenomenal though about Wes and his company is that they are still as receptive and caring after the project is completed as they are during the project. We had a significant increase in power usage towards the end of the build that continued on for a couple months after the job was completed, and I reached out to Wes, unsure if this could be related to the build or something else coincidental. He had an electrician come out to evaluate this surge in power and help us find the problem, which ended up being an old freezer and nothing to do with the basement. We greatly appreciated the extra step, well after the job was completed.I can't recommend Basements & Beyond enough for not only their designs and basements, but for having a true personal interest in their customers that you don't see often anymore.

Three years after completion of our remodel, B&B responded immediately to my phone inquiry regarding a bedroom window that had fallen out of its casing. Chuck gave instructions on what I could do to secure the window until morning and, though the problem was the fault of the home builder, B&B came out the next morning to replace the tape that holds the window in place. I’ve only had one other issue and it was resolved within 24 hours. Everyone at B&B is courteous and professional. I highly recommend this business.

Wes and his team are top-notch! From start to finish the entire experience was amazing. All of the staff are responsive, friendly, and professional. I've never seen a construction site so clean in my life (understanding there is going to be dust and debris, but overall it was very clean). The design was perfect, they listened to us and our needs and delivered a beautiful basement. We wanted a Dog Wash in our new laundry room and after several collaboration sessions we got a great space that works perfectly. We had an issue with a vendor and B&B took control of the situation and got us exactly what we wanted. I think the most amazing part of it all, is they delivered everything within $5K of the original quote and that was due to an unexpected plumbing issue. We are truly very happy with the results and will be using them again for our other remodeling projects! I would highly recommend them!

We just completed a substantial remodel of a 1924 historic home with Basements & Beyond and they did an outstanding job. The scope of the remodel was pretty large and complicated and included removing the original mechanical system (radiant heat) and updating it to forced air throughout the house. The scope also included a complete demo and re-model of the entire basement to create a new guest suite, wine wall, fitness room, great room/TV room, and laundry room. A full 2nd floor master bathroom demo, reconfiguration and remodel, the addition of a large closet, attic HVAC, a kitchen re-fresh, main floor bath demo and re-model, all new doors, hardware, base boards, door casings, wood floor refinishing, paint throughout, etc. etc.Home remodeling can be pretty daunting but in our experience the process of working with the Basements team was enjoyable throughout. It's starts with Wes (the owner) who really knows his stuff, is a straight shooter and who also has a tireless customer service ethic and then continues with their talented designer on staff (Joyce) who provides design ideas and helps you work through specific design challenges and decisions and shepherd you through the required finish selections. Their field people are also very strong and helpful even if you pester them incessantly (which we did). Simply put these are good people that know their stuff, are fair and honest, talented and skilled. They were great to work with. This was a complicated, involved remodel and yet the quality and finished product was exceptional. Working with Basements & Beyond definitely exceeded our expectations.

Basements and Beyond recently finished a significant crawlspace to basement conversion that included lowering the existing basement floor by two feet in our 1953 vintage ranch home. This was a technical and complex job. The Basements and Beyond team are consummate professionals, their subcontractors are reliable and their attention to detail is excellent. They are thoughtful and highly responsive to issues that come up throughout the project. We couldn't be happier with how the project turned out. We're happy we found them and would absolutely work with them again.

Beyond amazed! On budget and on time - which is almost unheard of in current Denver market conditions. Contract to completion (with city permit final approval), in under 2 months! And now the basement is nicer than rest of the house! The process is most impressive! Everything is planned, approved, and scheduled up-front. Co-construct app hosts all selections, sign offs, pictures, communications, client to-do's, project progress, etc.I was tavelling extensively during the project, and we also took a week family vacation. The project progressed smoothly because the process was in place. And we could address everything via text and phone and co-construct. There were weekly updates with pictures in case we were not home to see.The trades are very professional. Not once did we hear a curse word when they worked (this is important if you have small kids, we have friends whose kids started using some colorful language after a renovation project). They cleanup end of everyday so the work area is tidy and dust is minimized. The days I worked from home, noise never bothered me. Overall, life goes on as usual while the magic is going on in the basement. My security cameras were never triggered in the main floor when we were not home.We didn't think we needed a designer until we met Kelly, and ended with a space much nicer than we planned. She designed an en-suite bathroom when we thought we had to have a hallway between bedroom and bathroom like other basements in our neighborhood. She helped us with color and design selections based on our tastes, and we ended up with colors we would have never considered, and love the end result!Yes, B&B is not the cheapest contractor out there, but, they definitely are best value. Insulated interior walls, higher end finishes, and they generated a more detailed punch list than us. These are things "a guy" with a lower quote wont get you. If work/life is busy, and you need someone to "just handle it/just get it done", this is the team for you.Pictures show the condition of workspace throughout the project! Very nice work Basements & Beyond!
